After attending an exhibition of paintings at the Forbes Gallery in Mackay, Queensland in the 1980's Lesley became a committed member of the Forbes Group, a small group of artists who met and painted on a regular basis ... inspired by nationally acclaimed artist, Clem Forbes.
Lesley produced award winning paintings at local and regional exhibitions, and produced a huge body of work relating to social, industrial and environmental issues in the Pioneer Valley and surrounding area.
At her studio at the Gargett Gallery, Lesley now enjoys the luxury of full time art practice, and delights in her role as Flying Arts contact. "Liaising with visiting tutors and workshop participants encourages reassessment of old values." she said.
Arranging regular workshops at the Gargett Gallery and at nearby Eungella National Park and have become a tradition with local creative people.
Lesley was awarded the Mirani Shire Council Cultural Award in 2003. She is an accredited member of the Artworkers' Alliance.
