Artist's Statement

Subjectively, my work relates to my inherited feelings for the sea   in conflict with my chosen lifestyle in a small agricultural community.   I believe that my work relects my love of sea shells and in this series for those shells deposited by the inland sea millions of years ago.   Do the miners respect their value when they search for the coal which lies beneath?   Lesley Kane.
